Medior Strategic Buyer
Our partner is seeking a diligent and proactive Medior Strategic Buyer to join their procurement team. This position plays a key role in supporting and participating in strategic sourcing activities for Power Electronics commodities, ensuring that the supply chain is robust, cost-effective, and positioned for innovative advances.
Main responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation and ongoing refinement of the Commodity Strategy for Power Electronics components.
- Monitor the power electronics market and supplier landscape, providing insightful reports for internal stakeholders.
- Scout for emerging technologies in power electronics and advanced air mobility.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while exploring new partnerships.
- Conduct supplier visits to evaluate capabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Participate in the negotiation of development contracts and long-term sourcing agreements.
- Contribute to comparative studies of alternative supply chain solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams, including Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance, to support strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Engage in sample builds, trade shows, and exhibitions relevant to Power Electronics and advanced air mobility.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support the company's operations and compliance with aerospace and environmental health and safety management systems.
Required skills:
- A university degree in economics or engineering.
- At least 1 year of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with strategic procurement and negotiations involved.
- Proficiency in English both written and spoken.
- Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Office applications.
- Capability for complex thinking, self-initiative, and comfortable working with external partners.
- The ideal candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to engage in constructive confrontation.
