Senior Strategic Buyer

We are seeking a Global Commodity Lead (Strategic Buyer) to drive procurement and sourcing efforts for designated Power Electronics commodities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing commodity strategies to enhance supply chain efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.

Main responsibilities:
As the Global Commodity Lead (Strategic Buyer), your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and continuously refining the Commodity Strategy for power electronics components.
  • Monitoring market trends and keeping supplier product roadmaps up-to-date.
  • Conducting scouting activities for new technologies, with a focus on power electronics and advanced air mobility sectors.
  • Establishing and strengthening relationships with key suppliers, building a robust network of potential and current partners.
  • Assessing supplier capabilities through on-site visits and adherence to industry standards.
  • Initiating and leading negotiations for development contracts and long-term sourcing agreements.
  • Analyzing and conducting comparative studies of alternative solutions to optimize the supply chain and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Supply Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to align procurement strategies with corporate objectives.

Required skills:
  • A university degree in Economics or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment, particularly in strategic procurement and negotiation.
  • Close to native English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to initiate and manage complex projects independently.
  • Capability to handle complex situations and actively participate in challenging discussions.

  • 10 years of overall professional experience.
  • Knowledge of Polarian software.
