Manufacturing Engineer


Our Client is a pioneer in cutting-edge technologies within the aviation industry. Due to their dynamic growth, we are seeking new ambitious colleagues:


Main responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, validate and continuously improve the methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting requirements for safety, quality, cost and lead time.
  • Work with the product design teams to identify design for manufacturability and design for cost requirements, contribute to product design by suggesting alternative solutions with manufacturability in mind, and educate design engineers regarding production processes.
  • Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the capability of manufacturing methods.
  • Develop and implement innovative and flexible process technologies, commensurate with a new product introduction.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the manufacturing issues and exercise professional judgment.
  • Planning and elaboration of optimization actions in order to stabilize and verify the production.
  • Work with interfacing teams, local experts, partners and suppliers to ensure technical aspects of manufacturing processes are understood and accounted for as required.
  • Directly interface with representatives of the Customer and the Regulator, ultimately to demonstrate compliance.
  • Active participation and support in D-FMEA/P-FMEA processes and analysis of assembly processes.
  • Accountable for compliance to company policies, processes and procedures, ensuring all records and documentations are correct and maintained in line with regulatory requirements.
  • You will support the embedding and the sustainment of a high-performance culture.


Required skills:
  • Production experience and a post-secondary education in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrable experience working in a manufacturing environment, with engineering and purchasing teams.
  • Working experience in a LEAN production environment, knowledge and application of LEAN principles.
  • Experience defining or updating assembly or inspection processes would be highly desirable.
  • Must understand statistics and documentation requirements.
  • Manufacturing / Quality engineering experience with new product introduction is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of process control and problem investigation tools (PFMEAs, control plans, RCA, 7 step, 5 whys etc.)
  • Assembly of rotating (electrical) machines, permanent magnets and electrical connections experience desired
  • Strong initiative and a proven track record of delivering results and driving innovative change.
  • Knowledge of simultaneous engineering is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills capable of building good working relationships within the organisation and towards partner institutes.
  • Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working.
  • Knowledge of non-conformance management.
  • Previous use of SAP or Teamcenter is an advantage.
  • Basic level of Project Management knowledge.
  • Having NPI experience as a project team member is an advantage.
