Medior Strategic Buyer
Our partner is seeking a diligent and proactive Medior Strategic Buyer to join their procurement team. This role is instrumental in supporting and participating in strategic sourcing activities for Power Electronics commodities, ensuring a robust, cost-effective supply chain poised for innovative advancements.
Main responsibilities:
As a Medior Strategic Buyer, you will be involved in:
- Assisting in the development and continuous refinement of the Commodity Strategy for Power Electronics components.
- Monitoring the power electronics market and supplier landscape, providing insightful reports for internal stakeholders.
- Scouting for emerging technologies in power electronics and advanced air mobility.
- Cultivating and nurturing strong relationships with existing suppliers while exploring new partnerships.
- Conducting supplier visits to assess capabilities and ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Participating in the negotiation of development contracts and long-term sourcing agreements.
- Contributing to comparative studies of alternative supply chain solutions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional internal teams, including Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance, to support strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Engaging in sample builds, trade shows, and exhibitions relevant to Power Electronics and advanced air mobility.
- Undertaking additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the company's operations and compliance with aerospace and environmental health and safety management systems.
Required skills:
- A university degree in economics or engineering.
- At least 1 year of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with involvement in strategic procurement and negotiations.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Office applications.
- Capability for complex thinking, self-initiative, and comfort working with external partners.
- The ideal candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity and willing to engage in constructive confrontation.
