Senior Strategic Buyer (with German language knowledge)

Main responsibilities:
  • Support the development and execution of the in-country procurement of local add-ons and providing solutions for customer bids / contracts, while maintaining customer lifecycle and procurement expertise of local strategy, supplier knowledge and product life cycles
  • Build and maintain customer lifecycle and procurement expertise including around local strategy and guidelines, customer contracts, local supplier knowledge and product life cycles
  • Assisting in the development of customer bid / contracts, procurement approach and plans, leveraging best practice procurement approaches and commercial levers
  • Apply best practices around customer lifecycle procurement, including bid support, sourcing approach, commercial models and Total Cost of Ownership, project delivery and transitions
  • Deliver sourcing for non-category specific add-ons for local offices, Maintain in-country add-ons expertise around new technology, market dynamics, supplier strategies, commercial models, product life cycles and partner programmes
  • Maintain partnership with internal and external stakeholders, deliver bid / contracts in a quality, cost and time effective way
  • Work with the B2B & Customer Solutions Manager in the respective local office to define scope and assist with the delivery of the procurement plan
  • Deliver customer bid / contract, the optimum commercial models and procurement / sourcing plan, ensure the flowing down of customer terms to 3rd parties and time-critical buying schedules meeting project provisions 
  • Assist in the execution of sourcing plans for bids and contracts in a quality, cost effective and timely manner, maximizing commercial advantage  Maintain relationships with customers, capture and align requirements, negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements, ensure solution delivery

Required skills:
  • 3-5 years experience within the Procurement function, with strong strategic and tactical procurement skills, and the ability to deliver value and results
  • Strong business knowledge in customer solutions, portfolio purchasing, particularly around customer requirements, supplier capabilities, commercial models, product lifecycles and partner programmes required to deliver portfolio and customer requirements
  • Strong experience in purchasing, with fluent language proficiency
  • Demonstrates a track record of decision making capability and deliver against key metrics
  • Ability to manage complex, strategic and commercial requirements
Language skills:
  • English on a fluent level
  • German on a fluent level
  • Dutch on a fluent level is an advantage
  • Any European language is an advantage
