International Logistics and Settlement Specialist

Our client is a software and information-driven trading platform for the world’s secondary capital asset markets. They are looking for International Logistics and Settlement Specialists to their Budapest office. The Logistics Specialist will manage the logistics project plans for the transport of the capital equipment that their trading team buys and sells on the secondary market. This person will actively manage each transaction after the point of sale by implementing a safe and cost-effective method to transport the asset(s) from source to buyer, while focusing on account management, mitigating potential risk, and protecting the company’s interests. 

Main responsibilities:
  • Working closely with international clients and internal trading team
  • Coordinating, scheduling and tracking shipments of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and other high technology capital equipment across a multitude of trade lanes
  • Hiring machinists, craters, & forwarders by sending out RFQs, negotiating costs, and issuing POs
  • Managing client expectations
  • Controlling all communication between shipping and receiving parties, as well as third party vendors
  • Effectively structuring and coordinating shipments
  • Creating shipping documents
  • Managing costs on all assigned projects, submit invoices to the Finance Department
  • Maintaining import/export compliance for the US, EU, and all other trade lanes
  • Performing ad hoc projects
  • Managing contracted vendors

Required skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • International freight forwarding experience
  • Fluency in English 
  • Good attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Logic minded individual who excels at problem-solving
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours from time to time (occasionally they have team meetings after 6 PM or there will be times when overtime is needed to communicate with clients)

  • Additional language proficiency (French, German, Mandarin, Korean are preferred, although other languages can also be useful)
