General Ledger Supervisor (KOSTAL)

NEW SSC! Be one of the first ones to join! Our multinational client establishes a brand new SSC here in Budapest. Firstly, we are looking for talents for the team leader positions. As a General Ledger Supervisor, you will have a big impact on the building of the organization.

Main responsibilities:
  • Be involved in the transition of accounting processes from European entities to Hungary and actively shape a new SSC in Budapest in line with the process governance provided by the Global Process Head for GL and Asset Ledger
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of accounting data to the reporting and consolidation system, including additional analysis, schedules and research
  • Ensure and perform local statutory accounting for the legal entities in compliance with the respective local GAAP, including preparation of statutory financial reports
  • Ensure a reporting package for the group consolidation in accordance with German GAAP
  • Lead a team of Accountants and supervise team delivery of month-end closings, general ledger account analysis and reconciliations as well as asset ledger analysis
  • Contribute to preparation and review of management reports and financial information analysis on monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Manage ongoing operations of the team. Plan and monitor the capacity and workload of the team, hire additional team members according to anticipated workload
  • Coordination and controlling of the knowledge transfer and ensuring seamless post go-live stabilization of finance processes in scope in close alignment with the Global Process Head for GL and Asset Ledger
  • Contribute to define a closing schedule to speed up closing procedures, in close alignment with the Global Process Head 
  • Lead by example a cross-functional collaboration, create a motivating working atmosphere and actively drive the change management 
  • Coach and motivate team members
  • Participate and lead projects assigned to the role (incl. Process optimization)
  • Identify, evaluate and resolve issues (incl. process improvements)
  • Be adherent to agreed service levels, policies and procedures
  • Contribute in defining and implementing internal controls; be responsible of regular execution
  • Interact with external auditors
  • Engage in collaboration with the business and stakeholders to develop a professional relationship
  • Provide qualitative customer service; establish KPI’s to track GL and Asset Ledger performance in close alignment with the Global Process Head for GL and Asset Ledger

Required skills:
  • University degree or equivalent experience, preferable in accounting or business
  • At least 3 years of experience in Accounting (GL and Asset Ledger)
  • At least 2 years of leaderships experience
  • Knowledge of German GAAP (other local GAAPs and IFRSs is a plus)
  • High proficiency in the end-to-end GL and Asset process
  • Very good verbal and written English is a must
  • Complete familiarity with SAP R3 and Microsoft Office or equivalent tools
  • Ideally experience in SAP S4/HANA
  • Experience in process automation 
  • Strong team-player who can build and motivate a process team 
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and prioritize the right things at the right time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong continuous improvement & quality mindset 
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong customer focus with the goal to make life easier for the customer

  • German knowledge is a plus
