Category Manager (fixed-term)

Our Client is one of the world's leading IT services provider, including digital, technology, consulting, and operations services. At the moment they are expanding their operation in Budapest and looking for a new colleague to join their team, who will execute the procurement of indirect goods and services. Should you have fluent English language skills and a strong professional background in sourcing, do not hesitate to apply! 


Main responsibilities:
  • Management of tactical and strategic sourcing and procurement of indirect goods and services
  • Work with global category leaders and procurement directors to provide input to the development of global procurement strategies
  • Identify and lead sourcing initiatives that deliver breakthrough business improvements (quality, cost, schedule, overall value) aligned with respective category strategies
  • Lead the development and execution of regional and local supply strategies
  • Develop annual cost reduction plans, including spend projections for input to the budgeting process
  • Collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies
  • Management of the end to end contracting process
  • Plan and execute effective negotiation processes with suppliers
  • Management and maintenance of the contractual and business relationships with suppliers
  • Represent strategic sourcing on the quarterly business reviews with key suppliers
  • Develop scoring models and vendor performance scorecards 
  • Identify continuous improvement concepts 
  • Support the training of other team members on procurement best practices as well as procurement policy and procedures






Required skills:
  • University degree
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in strategic sourcing of indirect goods and/or services
  • Experience with MS Office applications
  • Fluency in English
  • Strong project management and research skills
  • Good organization/time management and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities and negotiation skills
  • Solid understanding of the legal aspects of procurement in the EMEA region
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive or proprietary information
